INTRODUCTION:
As the name itself implies, this organisation known as 'Nabatame Memorial Trust & Peace Institute Nepal' has been established in the memory of Japanese Buddhist monk Late Rev.Yutaka Nabatame who was brutally assassinated on 19 Ashad 2054 (July 03, 1997) in the sacred land of Lumbini, the birth-place of Lord Buddha, the Light of Asia and Pioneer of World Peace, during his holy mission here in Nepal. Late REv. Yutaka Nabatame was here to install in Lumbini the greatest and tallest peace tower among the 100 peace towers to be built all around the world. With the primary objective in mind that all just and the peace loving people all over the world may remember the Rev. monk for a long time this institute was duly constituted on 4 Bhadra 2054 after the approval of the Ministry of Home Affairs being registered with Kathmandu District Administration Office. This institute is a non-governmental organisation formed on an entirely religious and social basis.
THE INSTITUTE'S OBJECTIVES:
For Institutional development and carrying out welfare activities this institute has adopted the following objectives:-
- To remain always effortful toward world peace and human welfare by spreading the philanthropic preaching of Lord Buddha.
- To extend an additional help for the accomplishment of construction of Peace Tower presently being built but left incompete by Late monk Rev. Nabatame, by raising funds from peace loving and religious people and/or by securing mass labour donations.
- To repair and re-install those old and historical Buddhist Ghyangs, Monasteries, Chhyurtens and such other religious shrines which remain scattered here and there by making contacts with HMG'S concerned sectors or tracing donor agencies.
- To formulate necessary plan of action for building a Buddha Memorial Garden in the sacred land of Lumbini, the birth-place of Lord Buddha with a view to providing housing and recreational facilities to both foreign and native tourists and pilgrims.
- To extend necessary co-operation by making contacts with H.M.G.'s concerned sectors or tracing donor agencies to the construction works of Ghyangs, Gumbas, Chhyurtens and such other spots of the construction works are going to be undertaken or has been undertaken by a individual or an organisation with religious motive.
- To establish the University of Buddhism in order to impart education on Buddhism to the children of Buddhist communities from Nepal and abroad and spread thereby preachings of Lord Buddha and His Panchashila (Five Principle of good conduct) all over the world.
- To glorify peace and utmost important through out the world by building 108 (hundred and eight) Chhyurtens which symbolises world peace on action and interesting label and to impart education about Chhyurtens to emancipate all human beings for sinful acts and thus to secured thereby world peace and interenational brother-hood.
- To make extensive search on divine preachings given by Lord Buddha himself during his life time and other related religious books and to translate the various thought in simple language and to give them extensive publicity all over the world.
- To employ if needed Buddhist priest and all the Lamas of the kingdom and to appeal to donor agencies and Buddhist communities for grants and to provide allowances to the Buddhist priests.
- To carry out researches and studies on antique remainings of Lord Buddha and collect them so as to establish Buddhism musiam from those collections.
- To build and set up schools and religious shrines such as Gumbas (Monastries), Ghyangs and Chhyurtens (Temples), and to have speeches on world peace delivered and to make provisions for studies of Buddhism through these places.
- To construct the central office building of Nabatame Memorial Trust and Peace Institute Nepal and gradually set-up the institute's branch offices and sub-branch office in various districts.
- To set-up the institute's liaison offices and branch offices with the view to introducing the institute in international arena.
- And the last but not least to take necessary steps towards proper checking of gradually out going Buiddist antiques through smuggling.
